Our Funding

Together, we have the power to prevent injury and violence.

Research projects at HIPRC are funded through a wide variety of organizations and grants that reflect the diversity of researchers and injury topics here at the center.

HIPRC is a joint initiative of the University of Washington School of Medicine and Harborview Medical Center.

HIPRC is also a CDC-funded Injury Research and Control Center, or ICRC. The ICRC network is funded by the CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control to find ways to prevent injury and violence. HIPRC is currently the only CDC-funded ICRC in the western half of the United States.

The center’s Firearm Injury & Policy Research Program was founded in 2019 with funding from the Washington State Legislature.
