Violence Prevention

Violence has far-reaching harmful consequences for individuals, families, communities, and the society as a whole. HIPRC seeks to mitigate and prevent these harms.

At the Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center (HIPRC), our goal is to study the causes, prevention, and treatment of injuries from violence. Our Center’s research focuses include the examination of violent injury trends and patterns, suicide prevention and means safety, child maltreatment, youth violence, domestic violence, sexual violence, and other pertinent topics. Projects are supported by a combination of local and national funding sources.
