Safe States Alliance Honors Injury & Violence Prevention Achievements

The Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center (HIPRC) congratulates Tony Gomez, MPH, HIPRC Affiliate Member, for receiving the Safe States Alliance Alex Kelter Vision Award.

The Alex Kelter Vision Award was awarded to Tony Gomez for his lifetime contributions, bringing vision and leadership to the field of Injury and Violence Prevention. Tony was honored with this award for his dedication to improving the health and well-being of the community and his relentless pursuit of equity and excellence over the last 40 years.

This award, originally known as the Vision Award and re-named the Alex Kelter Vision Award in 2006, is Safe States Alliance’s highest honor and recognizes individuals who have brought leadership and vision to the field of injury and violence prevention.

Each year, the Safe States Alliance recognizes members for their contributions to Safe States and their commitment to the field of injury and violence prevention (IVP). The 2024 award winners collectively demonstrate commitment to equity, innovation, excellence, and vision to advance the field of IVP.
