CDC Injury Control Research Centers (ICRCs)

Funded Projects

CDC Injury Control Research Centers (ICRCs) bridge the gap between research and practice, translating scientific findings into effective strategies to prevent injuries and violence. They leverage their expertise and promote collaboration across various disciplines and agencies to address major public health challenges. ICRCs put knowledge into action, making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities through research, education, and outreach.

Funded Projects

Funded Projects:

  • Rural Opioids Prevention: Overdose deaths are preventable, but life-saving harm reduction strategies are not accessible to many at risk, particularly in rural areas. Researchers aim to increase access to harm reduction strategies, such as naloxone and fentanyl testing strips, in rural primary care settings to prevent overdose deaths and reduce stigma for people who use opioids and stimulants. • Adverse Child Experiences (ACEs) in Tribal Communities: In collaboration with the Lummi Tribal Health Center in Washington State, the HIPRC will create and test a culturally responsive parenting program for caregivers of American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) children. The program will aim to prevent and build resilience against ACEs. Learn More >>
