CDC Awards Grants to Improve Research, Training, and Outreach Conducted at the Injury Control Research Centers

CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control awarded grants to 11 Injury Control Research Centers (ICRC) to develop and share effective injury and violence prevention interventions, tools, and strategies. These efforts aim to reduce the risk of injury and violence and promote overall public health.

  • Emory University: Injury Prevention Research Center at Emory
  • Johns Hopkins University: Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy
  • Medical College of Wisconsin at Milwaukee: Comprehensive Injury Center
  • University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus: Injury and Violence Prevention Center
  • University of Iowa: Injury Prevention Research Center
  • University of Michigan: Injury Prevention Center
  • University of North Carolina: Injury Prevention Research Center
  • University of Pennsylvania: Penn Injury Science Center
  • University of Texas Health Science Center (UT Health), Houston: Violence and Injury Prevention Research Center
  • University of Washington: Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center

CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control funds ICRCs to study ways to prevent injuries and violence and to work with community partners to put research findings into action. The ICRC Program forms a national network of comprehensive academic research centers that focus on three core functions—research, outreach, and training.
