In collaboration with Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH), Safe Kids Coalition South Seattle, and Seattle King County Public Health, volunteers were able to giveaway life jackets and bike helmets to ACE Academy students and their families. The HIPRC Outreach Core and volunteers took part in the ACE Academy Summer Learning Experience Celebration, Friday July 29, 2022.

SCH was able to conduct life jacket fittings, while HIPRC led the bike helmet fittings for kids and adults. In addition to the giveaway, speakers working with HIPRC gave presentations to the ACE Academy students on various injury and violence topics.

The ACE Academy Summer Learning Experience immerses young men in hands on academic learning opportunities in Humanities, Math & Science and have daily experiential learning opportunities through Health & Wellness, Reading & Writing and weekly local field trips.
