The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control’s Division Injury Prevention, Core State Injury Prevention Program (Core SIPP) and the Injury Control Research Center (ICRC) Program, hosted a joint Reverse Site Visit on September 13-14, 2023. This meeting helped bring Core SIPP and ICRC partners together to discuss the current work and research being implemented across the country. The meeting was designed to allow state injury and violence programs (e.g. Core SIPP or SVIPP) and ICRC partners to share their progress on a variety of injury topics and research areas highlighting their collaborative and innovative work.

Members from HIPRC (pictured below) and the Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH) served on the “Building Capacity and Implementing Injury and Violence Prevention Related Health Equity Work Panel” and, jointly, shared experiences and lessons learned from collaborating on projects to advance health equity through school Return-to-Learn (RTL) program implementation for students with concussion and a school concussion reporting tool in Washington State. HIPRC also presented on our Year 5 Mentorship Project, “Climate Change, Aging, and Health among Rural Alaska Native Elders.”

The 2023 Core SIPP/ICRC Joint Awardee Meeting will begin immediately after the Safe States IVP Conference at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown Convention Center in Denver, CO beginning the afternoon of Wednesday, September 13th through Thursday, September 14th.  This meeting is a closed meeting for Core State and Injury Prevention Partners (Core SIPP) and Injury Control Research Centers (ICRC) partners. Registration is required.
