Dr. Kushang Patel, HIPRC Research Core Director and UW Research Associate Professor of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, was recently selected as a site Principal Investigator for the clinical trial study titled Biomarkers for Evaluation of Spine Treatments (BEST).
The BEST trial is part of a $51 million NIH U24 Back Pain Consortium (BACPAC) multi-center clinical trial sponsored by NINDS. It aims to inform a precision medicine approach to the treatment of Chronic Low-Back Pain by estimating an algorithm for optimally assigning treatments based on an individual’s phenotypic markers and response to treatment.
