HIPRC’s Hilaire J. Thompson, PhD, RN, CNRN, AGACNP-BC, FAAN and Megan Moore, PhD, MSW were invited to present their research at the National Academies of Science Engineering and Medicine’s (NASEM) committee on Accelerating Progress in Traumatic Brain Injury Research and Care.

Dr. Moore presented on “Reducing disparities in traumatic brain injury.” Her presentation allowed her to provide important input on the roadmap for TBI clinical care and research which would impact future treatment protocols.

Dr. Thompson spoke as part of a panel to identify specific gaps in TBI Care (assessment, intervention). The panel offered suggestions for the field of TBI research which help address some of the gaps.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is the nation’s pre-eminent source of high-quality objective advice on science, engineering and health matters. Top experts are invited to participate in projects to examine and assemble evidence-based findings that address some of society’s greatest challenges.
