HIPRC Trainee Wins Judy Su Award for Clinical Research

Shara Feld, M.D. Ph.D. was presented with the University of Washington, Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine “Judy Su Endowed Research Training Award in Anesthesiology,” on her project titled, A Machine Learning Approach for Predicting Real Time Risk of Intraoperative Hypotension in Traumatic Brain Injury.

Dr. Feld’s project developed a model to predict the risk of intraoperative hypotension using intraoperative real time features, compared using traditional statistical methods and machine learning techniques, and identified key features.

The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine held the thirteenth annual Academic Evening on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021. This invitation-only event showcased departmental resident, fellow, CRNA, graduate students, and junior faculty academic productivity (clinical and basic science research, case reports, education initiatives, etc).

Judy Su Endowed Research Training Award in Anesthesiology is given to the entry designated as the best overall presentation by a junior Faculty, Fellow, or Resident. This award, named for a distinguished researcher and member of our faculty for over 30 years, is accompanied by a cash prize.
