The INSIGHT Research Symposium showcases intern research projects completed over the summer.

The summer INSIGHT Research Program is accepting applications for summer 2020.

The paid internship is open to undergraduate, graduate, and first-year medical students, and will run June 15-Aug. 7, 2020 at Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center in Seattle. Applications are due by Jan. 15, 2020.

Over the course of eight weeks, INSIGHT interns conduct mentored research projects and engage in injury seminars, academic skills workshops, and behind-the-scenes tours of medical facilities across UW Medicine. Interns also participate in injury and health-related shadowing experiences with physicians.

All INSIGHT interns receive a stipend, and qualifying individuals are also eligible for travel reimbursement awards. The INSIGHT Research Program is funded in part by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).

INSIGHT culminates with the INSIGHT Research Symposium, featuring a competitive poster session where interns share their work with physicians, researchers, faculty, and peers.

For high school students, the INSIGHT Summer High School Program will open for applications Dec. 1.
