Real World Research on Safe and Active Travel a Presentation by ASPPH/NHTSA Public Health Fellows

Cars, trucks and buses drive bumper-to-bumper on a freeway over water, with boats and trees in the background.On Monday, February 13, 2017, at 1:00 PM Harbroview Injury Prevention & Research Center (HIPRC) will host Public Health Fellows from the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH). The Fellows will present their original research conducted at their fellowship at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Topics include pedestrian and driver distraction, challenges in occupant protection, and racial and ethnic disparities in alcohol-impaired driving crashes. A discussion about data analysis challenges and potential next research steps will follow.
