HIPRC Trainee, Kelsey Conrick, MPH, won the 2022 SAVIR Best Student Science Award for her paper titled, Race, Structural Racism, and Racial Disparities in Firearm Homicide Victimization.

Conrick’s co-authors include: Avanti Adhia, ScD, Alice Ellyson, PhD, Vivian Lyons, PhD, Brianna Mills, PhD, MA, BA, Miriam Haviland, MSHP, PhD, and her mentor for this paper is FIPRP Co-director, Ali Rowhani-Rahbar, MD, PhD, MPH.

Award background: Students submit abstracts and the top five abstracts submitted are assessed by judges which are then scored.
