A new report published October 2024 in the Injury Prevention journal reviews “The Continuum of Health Equity Practice & Science,” a framework designed to help public health researchers and practitioners focus on health equity.
Developed through surveys and research reviews, the continuum outlines seven key steps for addressing systemic inequities such as identifying health disparities, engaging communities, and implementing equity-focused science.
Investigators want others to know this tool guides public health researchers and practitioners in conceptualizing and applying health equity strategies. It can help uncover gaps in current approaches, improve equity-focused methodologies, and enhance public health outcomes. The Continuum aims to make health equity clearer and more actionable for public health efforts.
