Applications for the 2024 HIPRC Dr. Frederick P. Rivara Endowment are now OPEN!
The University of Washington Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center Dr. Frederick P. Rivara Endowment is designed to provide resources to graduate students and post-doctoral trainee investigators looking to conduct an injury-related project. A maximum of $3,000 (direct costs only) is available to be used toward the work. If your research includes Human Subjects, you can apply if your IRB is exempt, currently approved, or under review. This fund will not support animal research. The work must be completed within one year of funding or before the applicant finishes their training program, whichever comes first. This includes submission of a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal and presentation of findings at an HIPRC Works-in-Progress Session. Quarterly progress reports to the sponsor are required to be provided. Budget year is July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025.

Focus of the RFA: In your proposal, please describe how this work will address an important research question that will advance knowledge of injury prevention, treatment, or recovery. The research topic should be related to one or more of the topic areas of the HIPRC: injury health equity, safe transport, traumatic brain injury, violence prevention, firearm injury prevention and policy, falls prevention, injury care, or global injury prevention. The research should also help to advance the career of the applicant.
